Where Did Complementary Therapies Originate

When I am asked "where did complementary therapies originate", I just smile.

Complementary therapies are forms of healing therapies which are used to complement traditional medicine. Some people are happy to used complementaty therapies as a stand alone therapy while others are happier combining them with traditional medical therapy.

There are so many different types of complementary therapies which have originated from many different parts of the world. All have an important place and role to play in healing all over the world.

Since time began natural forms of healing have been practiced with great success and even today many people regularly practice complementary therapies on a daily basis.

The Chinese, the Japanese, the Native American Indians, the Australian Aboriginals and many other cultures have provided the basis for many complementary therapies which are still very popular today.

The basis for many of these therapies is a connection to the elements of the earth - fire, air, wind and water, which are all made up of vibrating energy particles. Vibrational energy healing is extremely popular and is a safe and natural way to heal - mind, body and spirit. Some well known forms of vibrational energy healing is Reiki, Seichim, Magnified healing and Aura Soma healing oils.

Other forms of complementary which heal the body on all levels is Yoga, Tai Chi, Aromatherapy, Hopi Ear Candles, Massage, Meditation, Reflexology, Mindset and Affirmations and herbal medicine just to name a few.

You may be wondering how to find the best complementary therapy for me. The answer is really quiet easy. Just allow yourself to be guided to the modality that appeals to you, whatever you feel comfortable with will be the best healing modaility that you need at that particular time.

Sometimes you will just see a sign or advertisement offering a service and if you follow the leads that appear before you, you will ultimately find the perfect therapy for you. Another way to find an excellent complementary therapy is by asking friends and family to recommend a therapist that they may know.

Complementary therapies are definitely on the increase throughout the world as more and more people loose faith in traditional medicine. Other people believe in combining the two healing systems to gain the maximum healing benefits of both healing systems, to enable a complete healing from what ever conditon they may have.
